1. What is sliding vane compressor?

Sliding vane compressor  belongs to a kind of rotary compressor, its axial slide does radial sliding in the rotor (cylindrical cylinder eccentric), the air intercepted between the slides is compressed and discharged. Rotary compressor has two cases: one is the slide installed in the slot on the cylinder, because the slide does not rotate with the rotor to do rotary motion, called the fixed slide (vane) compressor, that is, the rolling piston compressor ; the other is the slide is installed in the groove of the rotor, with the rotor to do rotary motion, called rotary sliding vane compressor, abbreviated as sliding vane, or rotary lobe, rmpotary vane coressor.

2. How does a sliding vane compressor work?

What is the Working principle of this compressor? Sliding vane compressors are mainly composed of three parts: the body (i.e., cylinder), rotor, and sliding vane. The outer surface of the rotor and the inner surface of the cylinder are circular, and the rotor is mounted eccentrically in the cylinder so that the two are tangent, forming a crescent-shaped space between the inner wall of the cylinder and the outer surface of the rotor. The rotor has a few sliding slots, each slot is equipped with a free sliding slider, rotor rotation, the slider by the centrifugal force from the groove thrown out, the end of which is tightly attached to the inner surface of the cylinder, the crescent-shaped space is divided into several fan-shaped chambers, which called the base element. With the continuous rotation of the rotor, the volume of the base element changes cyclically from small to large.

3. What are the advantages of sliding compressor?

① Simple structure, few parts, easy to realize processing and assembly, convenient maintenance.

② Smooth running, low noise, low vibration, small start-up impact.

③ Compact structure, small volume, light weight, easy to install in narrow space.

④ Large gas delivery, even flow, small pulsation, no need to install large gas tank.

4. What are the disadvantages of sliding compressor?

① The mechanical friction between the slide and the rotor and cylinder is more serious, and the wear and energy loss are larger.

② Lower service life and efficiency due to greater wear.

5. Application and development trend of sliding vane compressors

The sliding vane compressor is mainly used as an air compressor, with a discharge capacity of 0.3 to 40m3/min, and a low market share. According to different lubrication methods, they can be divided into three categories: drip oil, oil injection and oil-free. Sliding vane compressors are widely used in various compressed air units, small refrigeration and air conditioning units and automobile air conditioning systems. In the chemical industry and food industry, oil-free machines can be used to transport or pressurize various gases, but also as an air source for solid particulate material transport. Sliding vane machines can also be used as vacuum pumps.

Rotary lobe compressor  is a modified structure of the sliding vane compressor, because of its starting performance is better, the torque change of compression process is not big, at present is mainly used for mini cars and some smaller displacement tool car air conditioning system. High-speed power characteristics of the sliding vane compressor is the main direction of technical research. Click here.
